PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
We urge all pet owners to observe the following regiments to ensure
responsible pet ownership:
- Always ensure that your pet has its vaccination shots. Consult a qualified vet for this ;
- Always buy a licence for your dog the moment it reaches the age of three (3) months ;
- If you do not wish to care for more than one pet, please spay your dog or cat. Consult a
qualified vet for this procedure ;
- Even if your dog or puppy has a licence, do not allow it to wander around outside of your
house compound when it is not with its guardian and not on a leash;
- Take your dog or cat to the nearest qualified vet the moment you suspect it is not feeling well.
Our resident vet informs us that most pet owners always wait too long before bringing in their
sick pets.
- Teach your children to be kind to animals. Many people around the world depend on animals for a variety of
functions - the Burmese still rely on elephants to carry logs, sniffer dogs detect drugs and
bombs to aid police officers, countries like Britain among others, teach dogs to aid the blind and handicapped
in their everyday chores , and the list goes on.
